Midway Lions & Milford Bowling Hosts Annual ‘Snow Bowl’ for Sussex Consortium

Each year the Sussex Consortium students celebrate the approaching Holidays with a variety of activities District-wide. One of the most popular of those events is the annual Snow Bowl hosted by Midway Lions Club and Milford Bowling Lanes.

The event took place on Friday, December 7 and is one of many that Midway Lions club has been hosting since 2002. Over the years, the Snow Bowl has become a day that both the students and staff always look forward to. “We are so grateful to be able to work with Midway Lions Club on a variety of events,” said Vivian Bush, Principal at Sussex Consortium. “The students especially look forward to the Snow Bowl, because they are able to spend time with peers that they don’t always see every day.” Milford Bowling Lanes donates the use of the lanes and the students and staff are divided up by age group to bowl for about four hours. The Lions Club also provides food and beverage for the attendees.

“This is a day that all of our students look forward to each year,” said Patrick Zmuda, a Physical Education teacher at the Sussex Consortium. “They can spend time with classmates, and enjoy some friendly competition with each other!”

Students arrived at Milford Bowling around 9:30AM and bowled until about 1:30PM. “It’s a really fun day for all of our students,” continued Bush. “Between The Lions club and Milford Bowling, all the necessities for the day are provided, and the students made sure to bring the fun with them!”
