Frederick D. Thomas Middle School Opening 2024
-
Construction on Frederick D. Thomas Middle School began in 2022. This will be the third middle school in the Cape Henlopen School District and will be located on the site of the former Shields Elementary School, off of Savannah Road in Lewes. It will serve up to 600 students in grades 6-8. Renderings below are the approved designs as of the 1/27/22 Board of Education meeting. We are excited to be opening the FTMS doors to students and staff for the first time at the start of the 2024-2025 school year!
