COVID-19 Weekly Testing

  • Weekly COVID-19 testing is one way that students and staff can help to reduce the risk of spread in the Cape Henlopen Schools. This process helps to identify individuals who may be positive for COVID-19 and are not currently experiencing symptoms.

DE COVID-19 School Testing Program

  • In partnership with the Delaware Department of Health and Quidel, the Cape Henlopen School District schools will be offering weekly COVID-19 testing beginning in January 2022. This program is free to participate in and is voluntary. If you choose to participate, you may pre-register through Primary Health's platform. This link is specific to Cape Henlopen School District parents/guardians, students, and staff. The registration will take no longer than five minutes and is only done one time. Please click here to register.

Here is a little more about the testing program and process:

    • Testing is voluntary. Testing is free, no insurance information is needed, nor will you be asked to pay for testing.
    • Weekly testing is performed in school, during the school day by the Quidel medical staff.
    • Testing will be done through self-swabbing and will be monitored by Quidel medical staff.
    • The test that is being used for this program is Quidel QuickVue. For more information about the test, please read their fact sheet by clicking here.
    • Results and communication will be shared electronically to the email and contact information you provide at registration.
    • If your child tests positive, the school will contact you.
    • Staff that has opted for weekly testing should use this service.

The testing schedule for the individual schools will be shared soon. For questions, please contact Dr. LouAnn Hudson, Director of Instructional Support at louann.hudson@cape.k12.de.us, or Mrs. Bobbie Redefer, MSN, RN at bobbie.redefer@cape.k12.de.us.
