AVID Program

  • Course Requirements:

AVID class meets every day and is driven by the WICOR strategies, which stands for writing, inquiry, collaboration, organization, and reading. The AVID staff and students will work together as a learning community to build the skills necessary for academic success. This course weaves together both skills and content knowledge to begin preparing students for proper course selection in high school that will ensure entrance into a four-year college. Students will also learn to utilize skills to improve: organization, test-taking, time-management, and goal-setting.
