Sussex Consortium Students Host After School Art Show

SC Art Show Set Up

Twenty-five talented students from the Sussex Consortium participated in an After-School Art Show, celebrating the culmination of a seven-session artist residency program led by teaching artist Kizzie Cobb.

The art show, open to families, community members, and staff, highlighted the creative accomplishments of these budding artists, who participated in weekly after-school workshops. The program was designed to inspire self-expression, develop artistic skills, and encourage a deeper appreciation for the arts.

The residency was made possible through the generous support of Art Works for All, whose grant funding allowed for seven hands-on sessions with Ms. Cobb, an artist known for her dynamic, inclusive approach to youth art education. Each session offered students the chance to explore a variety of techniques and media, culminating in original artwork that was proudly displayed during the show.

The Cape Henlopen Educational Foundation (CHEF) generously funded the art show and refreshments, ensuring a festive and welcoming event for all in attendance.

“This art show highlights the students’ creativity and the impact of community support on young adults.” said David Miles, Job Coach and co-advisor.

“We are very proud of our students and thankful to Kizzie Cobb for leading them through this artistic journey, and to Art Works for All and CHEF for making it all possible through their generous support,” said Pamela Graves, Vocational Coordinator and co-advisor of the Art Program.
