Rehoboth Elementary Students Host Schoolwide Talent Show

Students in grades kindergarten through fifth, packed the Rehoboth Elementary School gymnasium for a student-led talent show. Peers had the chance to watch the dress rehearsal earlier in the day, while family, friends and relatives congregated that evening to see the show. It was an exciting night of celebration and support of the student participants.

Leading up to the talent show, all students had the opportunity to audition and earn a spot in the show, with about 75 students participating overall. Those who were not selected, were invited to apply as announcers or part of the stage crew. “Our stage crew was instrumental in helping make the show run smoothly,” said art teacher and talent show producer, Kellyann Palladino. “These students helped with props, spotlights, handing participants microphones, and the announcers even closed the show with a choreographed dance to the hit K-Pop Demon Hunters song, “Golden.”

The talent show provided students an opportunity to bring out the very best in each other and themselves. From tumbling routines, stand-up comics, Irish dancing, vocal talent, a puppet show, piano playing, speeches and hip-hop choreography, the very best was on display. “Overall, it was an incredible experience for the students, and many truly discovered new talents,” said Ms. Palladino. “They were so excited to perform for their classmates, teachers, and families, and we were amazed by their bravery and growth from auditions to the final night. Several students told me today how sad they were that it was over, and how much they’re already looking forward to next year. It was amazing to see the stage bringing so much excitement to everyone!”

Rehoboth Elementary and Cape Henlopen School District would like to send a sincere thank you to all the staff members who helped the students put on this amazing show! Coproducers included: Kristine Dervase, Linda Dailey, Sheila Oquendo, Dawn Porto, and Julia Haley. Additional staff who were extremely helpful with technology and a number of other logistics were Taylor Phillips, Marybeth D’Amico, Jenna Douglass, Renee Kosc, Courtney Kosc (high school volunteer), Stacy Kuklish, and Kevin Wright.
