Preschoolers Work with SoDEL to Design Meals on Wheels Placemats

Little Vikings Preschool, in collaboration with SODEL Concepts and Meals on Wheels, launched a heartwarming initiative to bring joy to homebound seniors in our community. As part of these young Vikings learning about community, kindness, and giving back, students worked hard to create colorful, personalized placemats that were delivered with Meals on Wheels lunches the week of Thanksgiving.

Throughout the project, preschoolers explored what it means to be part of a community and how even small acts of kindness can make a big impact. Teachers guided students in conversations about helping others, showing empathy, and working together. The placemat-making activity allowed students to put these skills into action, all while strengthening fine motor skills, creativity, and social-emotional development and of course, supporting a meaningful cause!
