More Life Organization at Beacon Middle School Kicks Off Year Two

The More Life student organization is proud to announce the start of its second year, welcoming a new class of members who are eager to carry forward the group’s mission of character, leadership, and service.

More Life started at Beacon Middle School in the 2024-25 school year. It is a student-led group that provides young men with opportunities to grow as leaders, serve their community, and develop the skills and values needed to succeed in school and beyond. The group emphasizes respect, responsibility, and making positive choices, while fostering brotherhood and mentorship among its members.

This year, More Life is excited to expand its programming with new initiatives, service projects, and events designed to strengthen the bonds between members and reinforce the organization’s commitment to excellence. Returning members will play a key role in mentoring new students, helping them embrace the organization’s values and traditions. Students held their first meeting of the year on September 17, where they received their Cape branded “ties,” discussed the importance of having good interpersonal communication skills, and how to step into a room with both confidence and respect.

“We are thrilled to welcome a new group of young men into More Life as we begin our second year,” said Charles Mumford, Beacon teacher and advisor for the organization. “Our students are proving that leadership is about more than titles, it’s about service, integrity, and striving to be your best self each day.”

This year, students will have the opportunity to hear from guest speakers, participate in team building activities, and conduct school and community service projects. Families, staff, and community members will have opportunities throughout the year to support the organization’s efforts and celebrate the achievements of its members.

“We’re looking forward to another exciting year with a great group of students who are ready to work hard, learn a lot, and have fun doing both,” said Mumford.
