Milton Elementary 3rd & 4th Grade Hosts "Starbucks" Day

Riley Bateman and Madison Adams

On Monday, September 29, National Coffee Day, the third and fourth grade students at Milton Elementary celebrated accordingly with “Starbucks Day!” They arrived at school that morning to find their very own Starbucks cup waiting for them on their desk, courtesy of their “Baristas” (teachers).

Throughout the day they participated in coffee themed activities, such as a fiction and nonfiction book sort, as well as coffee related math problems. Students had the opportunity to guess how many coffee beans were in a jar and were given time to design their own unique coffee cup. Once their cup designs were completed, teachers from a different grade level voted on the best coffee cup designs, earning the students bonus points for their House.

“Our teachers do an amazing job making connections between daily life and what students are actively learning in the classroom,” said Dr. Clara Conn, Milton Elementary Principal. “I love to see the excitement in students and staff alike when these lessons are brought to life!”
