MES Holds First House Challenge of the Year

Milton Elementary held its first House Challenge of the year on September 24! Students and staff in the building were tasked with showing off as much HOUSE spirit as they could. Colorful wigs, light up necklaces, face paint, bright shirts, and high socks were all present and represented in each of the five houses, Safety (red), Responsibility (blue), Kindness (yellow), Creativity (purple), and Perseverance (green). Judges from around the district donned clip boards for notes and were provided tours through each grade level by the MES 5 Leadership team. At the end of the tour, judges then cast an anonymous vote on who they felt showed off the most HOUSE spirit. The tallies were tight, but the winner of this challenge was the House of Perseverance. Students in grades K-5 who are part of the House of Perseverance earned themselves 100 points in the race amongst the other houses. The team with the most points at the end of the marking period will earn a “House Party.” In addition to the House challenges, students can earn points for their team regularly, by making responsible and safe choices, showing each other kindness, getting extra creative and working hard, and by showing perseverance through problem-solving skills.
