Love Creek Principal, Equetta Jones, Selected as a Leader in the Field by LEAD IDEA Center

The LEAD IDEA Center has announced the selection of Mrs. Equetta Jones, as one of only 16 professionals nationwide to serve as a Leader in the Field (LiF), a distinguished recognition for exceptional leaders advancing special education and early intervention.

The Leaders in the Field community represents a diverse group of administrators, including Special Education Directors, Principals, Early Intervention Directors, and Supervisors of Exceptional Education from across the United States. Together, they collaborate with LEAD IDEA Center staff to strengthen leadership practices and advance the implementation of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

“We are incredibly proud of Principal Jones’ recognition,” said Dr. Audrey Dempsey, Supervisor of Elementary Education and Early Learning. “Having one of our own selected as a national Leader in the Field ensures that the voices and experiences from our schools are represented at the highest levels. This opportunity not only bridges the gap between research and practice but also strengthens our ability to meet the real-time needs of students with disabilities and the educators who serve them.”

As a Leader in the Field, Mrs. Jones will provide insights and feedback that shape national efforts to improve services and outcomes for children with disabilities and their families.
