Little Vikings Preschool is Building Healthy Habits from the Start

Ms. Ashley, Ms. Joy, and Ms. Regina’s preschool friends had a blast on their first day of gym. Mr. Z taught them exercises, like head, tummy, toes, reach!

Little Vikings preschool students are getting an active start to their school year through physical education! During their first day of gym, students had a blast learning fun, age-appropriate movements with Mr. Patrick Zmuda, including the crowd favorite, “head, tummy, toes, reach!”

Physical education is an important part of the preschool experience, giving students opportunities to develop fundamental motor skills, coordination, balance and body awareness while learning that movement can be fun. Through games, exercises and activities designed for young learners, students begin developing confidence in their abilities and an understanding of how to take care of their bodies.

“Physical education at the preschool level is about much more than learning how to move,” said Dr. Elizabeth Cherico, Principal of Little Vikings. “We’re helping our youngest vikings build confidence, develop healthy habits and discover the joy of being active. These early experiences can help establish a positive relationship with movement and fitness that students can carry with them as they grow.”

From stretching and jumping to balancing, reaching and learning new ways to move, Little Vikings students are building a foundation for lifelong healthy habits and are having fun along the way!
