Little Vikings Preschool Families Dive Into Fun at Pool Day Celebration

Preschoolers and their family members enjoy a fun pool day activity.

The Little Vikings’ youngest learners made a splash this week as students in the 2-year-old program joined their families for a joyful Pool Day celebration in the pool. The event brought together families, teachers, and swim instructors for an afternoon filled with connection, confidence-building, and plenty of smiles.

The family activity served as an opportunity to strengthen the home-school partnership that is central to the Little Vikings program. Families were able to engage directly with staff, observe water-readiness strategies, and support their children as they explored the pool with guidance from trusted adults. The pool is intentionally designed for Sussex Consortium students’ needs in that it’s smaller in size and kept warm, creating a comfortable space where they can learn specific skills, water safety and build confidence.

Laughter echoed across the pool deck as young swimmers dipped, splashed, and practiced early water-confidence skills. For many students, it was a first experience in a group aquatic setting, one made comfortable and memorable by the warm, encouraging, therapeutic atmosphere.

From shared giggles to brave first splashes, the celebration proved once again that even the tiniest Vikings can make a big wave!
