Little Vikings preschool students recently marked the 80th day of school with an exciting 80’s-themed dance party that combined music, movement, and learning. The celebration offered students a fun and interactive way to reinforce important early learning skills while enjoying a lively classroom event.

As part of their daily routine, preschoolers practice counting and number identification, and the 80th-day celebration allowed students to apply those skills in a meaningful context. Students counted to 80, explored numbers creatively, and connected math concepts to a memorable experience.

In addition to math, the event encouraged students to develop physical and social skills. Dancing to upbeat 80’s music helped build gross motor coordination, while following directions during games and activities strengthened listening skills. Working alongside their classmates also provided opportunities to practice cooperation, turn-taking, and positive social interactions.

“The 80th-day celebration is a wonderful example of how preschoolers learn best, through hands-on, engaging experiences,” said Mrs. Wendy Harrington, Little Vikings assistant principal. “The students not only reinforced important math and movement skills, but also enjoyed time together, building a strong sense of community in the classroom.”

The celebration highlighted the creativity, energy, and enthusiasm of Little Vikings students and demonstrated how combining learning with fun can support early academic, physical, and social development in meaningful ways.
