From November 10th to November 14th, students at Lewes Elementary promoted, collected, counted, and organized 2,232 items for their Fill the Pantry Food Drive.

Throughout the week families, staff, and community members dropped their canned goods, boxed pasta and rice, cereal, granola bars, instant potatoes, stuffing mix, and a variety of other non-perishables, to the front office of the school.

“My office was overflowing with generous donations by the end of the week,” said School Social Worker, Lovell Hemphill. “We are so grateful to all those who contributed to the drive, showing our students, and the entire community, what we can achieve when we come together to support a common purpose. These donations will go on to help numerous families right here in our community.”

All of the donated items were given to both the Rehoboth Community Center, as well as Epworth Food Pantry. Both organizations go above and beyond to help local families with food insecurities throughout the entire year.
