Eight Cape Henlopen Students Recognized at Delaware Tech Academic Challenge Awards Ceremony

Eight outstanding Cape Henlopen School District students were recently recognized at the annual Academic Challenge Awards Ceremony hosted by Delaware Technical Community College. The event celebrates students who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement, leadership, character, and a commitment to excellence in their educational pursuits.

Representing both the district's middle and high schools, the honorees were recognized alongside top students from across the region during a ceremony that highlighted academic success. Among those honored were three middle school students whose accomplishments reflect the strong academic foundation being built at the middle school level. Their recognition alongside high school students underscores the dedication and perseverance demonstrated by Cape students at every grade level.

"We are incredibly proud of these students for earning this recognition," said Dr. Michael Young, Supervisor of Secondary Education. "Their academic achievements, commitment to learning, and positive contributions to their schools exemplify the values we strive to cultivate throughout our district. This honor reflects not only their hard work, but also the support of their families, teachers, and school communities."

The Academic Challenge Awards program recognizes students for their consistent contributions to class discussion and participation in class activities, leadership among their peers and their commitment to fostering a positive and collaborative classroom culture. They are selected for their academic accomplishments, leadership abilities, character, and potential for future success.
