Cape School District Recognizes the Moose Lodge as this Month’s Community Champion

The Cape Henlopen High School Vocational Program is proud to recognize the Moose Lodge as the recipient of its Community Champion Award for November.

The Moose Lodge has been an exceptional partner and supporter of the Vocational Program since early spring 2025. Through this collaboration, students have gained valuable hands-on work experience in a real-world setting while developing job readiness, teamwork, and organizational skills.

Each week, students contribute to a variety of tasks that keep the Lodge running smoothly. Their responsibilities include filling and cleaning wing sauces, salt and pepper shakers, and ketchup bottles; printing and cutting wing menus; wrapping plasticware; folding towels; putting liners in wing baskets; refilling paper products; cleaning tables; and preparing tables with all the necessary dining essentials.

In appreciation of their hard work, the Moose Lodge hosted a special pizza and cake celebration at the end of the 2024–2025 school year, where each student was also presented with a Walmart gift card. During their regular work visits, students enjoy a soft drink and fresh movie theater popcorn, a small but meaningful treat that adds to the positive, welcoming environment.

“We are so thankful for the Moose Lodge and their ongoing partnership,” said Josh Chubb, Cape High Assistant Principal. “They have provided our students with a supportive and inclusive space to learn, grow, and practice important life and job skills. Partnerships like this make a lasting impact on our students and community.”

Thank you to the Moose Lodge for your continued generosity and support, and for being true community champions! The Cape Henlopen High School Vocational Program looks forward to continuing its partnership with them for many years to come.
