Cape High School Students Earn Prestigious Certificate of Multiliteracy

Certificate of Multiliteracy Students

The Cape Henlopen School District is proud to recognize a group of exceptional students from Cape Henlopen High School who have earned the Delaware Certificate of Multiliteracy, an honor awarded by the Delaware Department of Education to students who demonstrate proficiency in English and at least one other language.

This statewide recognition celebrates students’ dedication to developing high-level communication skills and their commitment to becoming global citizens. To receive this honor, students must meet rigorous proficiency standards through state-approved assessments in both English and a world language.

“These students have achieved something truly special,” said Dr. Jessica Hazzard, Cape Henlopen High School Assistant Principal. “They’ve not only mastered academic content but have also embraced the power of multilingualism, which will serve them well in college, careers, and their communities.”

Languages represented by this year’s recipients include English in combination with Spanish, Russian, or Turkish showcasing the diversity and talent within our schools. Students who earn the Certificate of Multiliteracy can include this accomplishment on college applications, job resumes, and scholarship submissions.

The Certificate of Multiliteracy reflects Cape’s continued focus on preparing students to thrive in a diverse and interconnected world. It affirms the value of cultural understanding, academic excellence, and the importance of language learning.

We are incredibly proud of these students and their commitment to academic and linguistic achievement. Congratulations to all recipients of the Delaware Certificate of Multiliteracy!
