Educators Rising is a national organization dedicated to cultivating highly skilled educators by providing students with hands-on teaching experience, professional development opportunities, and competitions that prepare them for careers in education. The state competition challenges students in areas such as lesson planning, public speaking, job interviews, and instructional strategies.
In addition to the competition aspect of the conference, participants also had the opportunity to participate in breakout sessions with other attendees, hear inspirational keynote speeches, attend interactive workshops, and engage in panel discussions. “The conference doesn’t just provide a great opportunity to students to test their skills and knowledge against other students in the state,” continued Marvel. “It is also a chance for students to interact with others who have similar interests, network with professionals in the field to learn from their experiences, and even to collect ideas for their own future classrooms. Overall it’s a wonderful opportunity for our K12 Teacher Academy Pathway students.”
With this victory, students who have qualified will compete at the national Educators Rising Conference, which will take place in Orlando, Florida, June 25-29.
