Cape Henlopen School District Sends Three Teams to Odyssey of the Mind World Competition

Mariner Team

Cape Henlopen School District is proud to announce that three of its student teams have qualified for the Odyssey of the Mind World Finals, a prestigious international creative problem-solving competition. The teams will represent the district at the global event being held May 21 – 24 at Michigan State University.

The participating teams are from Lewes Elementary, Rehoboth Elementary and Mariner Middle School, and they earned their spots at the World Finals by excelling at the state-level Odyssey of the Mind tournament earlier this spring. Their achievements reflect months of hard work, collaboration, and imaginative thinking as they tackled complex problems in areas such as engineering, performance, and design.

“We are incredibly proud of our students and coaches for their dedication and innovation,” said Jen Celano, District Odyssey of the Mind Coordinator. “Odyssey of the Mind not only challenges students academically but also fosters critical skills like teamwork, communication, and perseverance.”

The World Finals will bring together top teams from across the United States and around the world to showcase their unique solutions and creative talents. Cape celebrates this exciting opportunity and wishes all three teams the best as they prepare to compete on the international stage.

If you are interested in helping to support the teams travel to the competition, donations are being accepted online at https://app.99pledges.com/fund/capehenlop2. Any additional fundraising opportunities will be shared through the District’s social media pages.
