Cape Bookmobile Hits the Road on New Years Eve

Jacquie Kisiel, Bethany Foye, Bryant Richardson, Mazeir Rodgers, Kalisa Waples, Declan Hooper, Tina Windsor, and Dawn Quigley share some of the books selected by our students.

On New Year’s Eve, the Cape Henlopen School District’s Bookmobile hit the road to visit several local communities as part of the district’s Midyear Boost initiative, bringing books directly to students and families. The special outreach effort was designed to “blast into the new year” by promoting reading and literacy and encouraging students to stay engaged with learning during the middle of the school year and over winter break.

Coordinated by Rehoboth Elementary teacher, Mrs. Tina Windsor, the visit gave families the opportunity to explore and receive new books, helping to build home libraries and support reading at all levels. The Bookmobile’s presence created an inviting and accessible way for students to connect with books while reinforcing the importance of reading both in and out of the classroom.

The New Year’s Eve Bookmobile tour reflects the district’s ongoing commitment to literacy and equitable access to educational resources, ensuring students have the tools they need to develop strong reading skills and a lifelong love of learning. Thank you to staff members, Jacquie Kisiel, Bethany Foye, Tina Windsor, and Dawn Quigley for facilitating the visits and spending time celebrating the magic of the new year and new books with students and families.
