For students in grades 6–12, the district’s Digital Literacy instruction builds on foundational skills and shifts toward more advanced media analysis, responsible technology use, and critical thinking in digital spaces. Students learn how to evaluate sources for credibility, recognize misinformation, understand digital footprints, and engage ethically and safely across online platforms. Instruction is supported through resources from Common Sense Media, which provides age-appropriate lessons on media literacy, digital citizenship, and online safety tailored to adolescent learners.
In addition, students and educators utilize The Achievery to extend learning through interactive lessons and real-world digital skill-building activities. Together, these resources help prepare students in grades 6–12 to navigate an increasingly complex digital world with confidence, responsibility, and informed decision-making.
