This course will provide you with an introductory study of the forms and types of businesses, economics, marketing, and finance. Further analysis is given to entrepreneurship as it applies to business owners with an emphasis on managing people and engaging in effective decision making. Key components introduced are as follows: Accounting, Personal Financial Management, Marketing, Principles of Management, Entrepreneurship and Economics. The application of these concepts will be reinforced by the integration of technology, projects, and research of the world of business today. This course is taught in accordance with Delaware Department of Education Business, Finance, and Marketing standards.
Students will be exposed to a variety of different summative and formative assessments. Different chapters may focus on different types of final products. For example, a chapter may utilize a large final project as opposed to a chapter test. The weights of each type of assessment are listed below.
Tests, Quizzes, and Summative Projects 40% of grade
Classwork and Formative Projects 40% of grade
Miscellaneous Tasks 20% of grade (Warm-ups, Homework, Etc.)
Final Exams and Midterm Exams are worth 15% of Final Grade
