• Why should I download the CHSD Mobile App?

    Our new mobile app is designed specifically to keep families and community members better informed and connected to what’s going on in our schools and throughout our District. The app features the latest district and school news, push notifications about breaking news, closure, weather, events and more, easy access to the lunch menus and the calendar of events, and school and staff directories just to name a few!

    The app is FREE to download and can be found in both iTunes and Google Play.

  • Which operating systems will support the CHSD Mobile App?

    Your device needs to have one of the following systems:

    • iOS 9.0+
    • Android 4.2+
    • Windows 10+

    The Blackboard app for Android and iOS was designed and built for phones and iPads running iOS 9.0+, and Android tablets running 4.2+. The Blackboard app for Windows is compatible with tablets and phones but may look a bit different than the iOS and Android versions.

  • How do I download the app?

    • Go to the App Store or Google Play
    • Search "Cape Henlopen School District”
    • Select "Free" and then "Install"
    • You will need to know your apple or google account password
    • After it has installed select "Open"
    • You have now downloaded the app

     

    At the point of opening the app, it will walk you through selecting schools to "follow." You may select as many schools as you'd like, and can update this at any time.

  • How do I follow my child's school on the app?

    When you first open the app on your smartphone after installing, you will have the ability to select specific schools to follow. You can change/update this at any time. To do that follow these steps:

     

    • Select the “Settings” icon
    • Click “Follow Schools”
    • Click on the School which you wish to follow
    • You’ll have several choices of what you want to follow for each school, either select “All” at the top, or select the channels in which you wish to see information for (i.e. PeachJar, news specific to that school, school’s calendar, or gallery of photos)
    • After you’ve selected all that you wish to ‘follow’ click the “back” button on the top left, and then “settings” also in the top left, then “home”. This takes you back to the icon screen.

  • I'm not getting push notifications...what do I do?

    If you are not receiving push notifications, it is likely because the app notifications are turned off on your phone. Go to your phone’s “settings” and make sure the “Allow Notifications” is selected for the CHSD Mobile App.

  • How do I customize my news feed?

    To customize your news:

    • Select the News icon
    • By default, you will see all the district level news feeds
    • Select the "Wheel" in the top right-hand corner
    • Select which school(s) you wish to follow
    • Choose which type of news you want to follow
    • Select "Back" and then "Done"
    • Now your customized selection will display in your News Section

  • How do I follow specific schools on the Calendar feature?

    By default, everyone will have access to the overall District calendar. If you would like to select specific calendars for schools, start by touching the Calendar Icon on the home screen of the app. When the calendar opens, in the upper right corner of your screen there is a wheel that will open your calendar settings. Touch the wheel, and from there you can select the school's in which you'd like to follow.

  • Is there a way to save events from the calendar to my device calendar?

    Yes! Select the calendar Icon on the home screen and select the event you wish to add to your calendar. On the next screen, you have the option to Add the event to your personalize events page on the app or to Add the event to your device calendar. In order to add the event to your device calendar, you will need to make sure the CHSD Mobile App has access to your calendars through the privacy setting on your device.

  • The app isn't working correctly, what should I do?

    If you’re using an Apple device:

    • Tap on the “Settings” icon.
    • Select “Reset app defaults.” (Note: This will reset all your settings, including your selected feeds.)
    • Hit “Reset.”
    • If that doesn’t work, you may need to uninstall the app and download it again. 

    If you’re using an Android device:

    • Exit the app and go to your phone settings.
    • Locate the application manager, and find the CHSD mobile app.
    • Tap on the icon.
    • On the next screen, hit “Clear data.”
    • If that doesn’t work, you may need to uninstall the app and download it again.

  • Is the app accessible in any other languages other than English?

    Yes! The app has 65 languages to select from. To change the language from English, click the "Settings" icon, followed by the "Select Language", and lastly select the language you want.

  • How do I access the resources for my child's specific school?

    Posted by:

    To access a specific school's resources, first, open the folder by tapping the 'Resource' icon. Once the folder opens, tap the "change" button in the upper right corner of the screen and select the school you wish to view the weblinks and documents for.
