When School is Closed

When school is closed for inclement weather ( snow, ice, hurricanes for example) the Boys & Girls Club will be using the Rehoboth Beach Boys & Girls Club. You must call your site's phone for opening and closing times for the day. Each location may have different hours depending on the weather in that area. Please call your Director to let them know you will be sending your child. Do not call Rehoboth Club as they do not keep track of school site member numbers allowed for each day. Each site may only send 6 members due to current COVID restrictions.

Please dress your child weather appropriately and they must have on or bring sneakers. Please send a lunch and water bottle with your child. Full day childcare rates will apply and will need to be paid the next day to your site.

State of an Emergency

If the State has declared a “State of Emergency Level 2 or 3” due to the weather we will not be open at any location. If the State has declared a “State of Emergency Level 1” please call the site cell phone where your child attends for a recorded message for instructions for that day.

Delays

If school is delayed two hours because of SNOW or ICE, we will be open two hours later as well, at 9:00 AM.  This is due to the decision that the weather has made roads not safe for staff travel. Please check your phone for a One Call from your Director or call your Director if you have any questions.

If school is delayed one or two hours due to fog, we will be open at the regular time at 7:00 AM.

School Closure After Morning Care is Open

If school closes for any reason after we have opened morning care you will be called to pick up your child.  We will then provide care at Rehoboth Beach BGC for those who wish to utilize that service.  Any children already dropped off at Boys & Girls Club will need to be picked up again by an authorized pick-up person within the hour and driven to Rehoboth Beach BGC as we CANNOT transport your children. You will need to provide a lunch for your child that day if you bring your child to Rehoboth.  We will provide an afternoon snack. Full-day childcare rates will apply.

Early Dismissal

If school declares an early dismissal how does this affect after school  Please check your phone for a One Call from your Director or call the Boys & Girls Club site cell phone for instructions regarding PM program. If the school deems they are sending all their afterschool staff home for inclement weather or any emergency reason we will also have to vacate and in that situation Boys & Girls Club will remain open one hour at the school allowing time for parents to pick up their child/ren as soon as possible due to many of our members do not have bus transportation lined up as an alternative means to get home. Please try to pick up your child directly after school dismisses.

After School Activities Cancelled

If the school cancels after-school activities, this does not necessarily mean the Boys & Girls Club is canceled after school. Please call your site Director if you have any questions. CALL: (302) 893-9313
