Dr. Alison J. Myers

Alison J. Myers is a former special education teacher who holds a Bachelor's Degree in Economics, a Master's Degree in Education, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership, all from the University of Delaware. She was first elected to the Board of Education in 2014 and was re-elected in 2019. Dr. Myers has served as the Board Vice President from 2015-2018 and the Board President from 2018-present. During her doctoral work, Dr. Myers created and implemented the superintendent evaluation system that has been successfully utilized since 2017. Additionally, her board focus is on the continuous improvement of the district through effective leadership, communication, and equity work. Dr. Myers and her husband, Rob, have five children; Bella, a current college student, and Cape Henlopen High School Alumni, Aubrie, a student at Cape Henlopen High School, Rylie, a student at Beacon Middle School, Robbie, a student at Lewes Elementary, and Bryn, also a student at Lewes Elementary.
