Delaware Community Foundation (DCF) Scholarships:  The DCF is pleased to announce that students can apply for any scholarship with DCF that they may be eligible for by completing just one application.  DCF will screen applicants and determine scholarship eligibility.  For a listing of the DCF scholarships, visit www.delcf.org/Apply 4 2.htm or the Career Services Center on the 2nd Floor.  At present there are five different scholarships available.  You may apply online.  Transcript request forms for the DCF scholarships must be turned into Guidance Services by March 22nd.

The Rehoboth Beach Lions Club is pleased to offer a scholarship for $1000.  Scholarship, leadership and financial needs are the criteria by which the applicants will be judged.  Students must have a Cum GPA of 85% or better.  Return completed applications to Mrs. Stenger in guidance Services by March 22, 2010.

Barbara Gittings Memorial Scholarship for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender Students - For students attending a 2 or 4 year Delaware College.  A student essay, a scholarship need statement and three letters of recommendations are required.  Return completed applications to Mrs. Stenger in Guidance Services by March 22, 2010.

 Future Teachers:  Delaware Association of School Administrators Scholarship Contest.  Any Delaware High School senior who has applied and is likely to be accepted as an education major.  Students must submit an essay on "Why I Chose Education as My Career Field" and provide a statement of intent to submit verification of acceptance to college.  The completed application and request for transcript needs to be turned into Guidance Services my March 15, 2010.

College Scholarships for Students from Foster Care:  The Casey Family Scholarship and the Foster Care to Success Scholarship are available online at www.orphan.org.  Students must have been in foster care or orphaned while living in the United States.  The online application deadline is March 31,2010.  See your school counselor if you have any questions.

Seniors if you are planning to attend Del Tech next year and then transfer to University of Delaware, Delaware State University or Wilmington University to complete a 4 year degree, you should apply for a Sussex County Partnership Scholarship.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office.  They are due February 26th - please check it out today.

The Delaware Association of Educational Office Professionals is offering a $1000 scholarship.  The student must be entering a secretarial or related office/business occupational field i.e. accounting, business technology, and marketing.  The candidate must be entering a Business Program at a 2 or 4 year college.  The completed application and request for transcript needs to be turned into Guidance Services by March 5, 2010.

Dover Officer's Spouses Club Scholarship - applicants must be dependents of active duty, reserve or retired military or US government employees assigned to Dover Air Base or dependents of deceased military members residing in the area served by Dover Air Base.  The completed application and request for transcript, and counselor recommendation needs to be turned into Guidance Services by Friday, February 26, 2010.

Do you need volunteer hours?  Our school has a need for volunteers this weekend.  Cape is sponsoring a wrestling tournment and we need volunteers to work the refreshment stand on Saturday and Sunday.  See Mr. Hulse is you are interested ASAP in Room D225.

This is a "last call" for Seniors who have not yet ordered their graduation cap and gown.  The DEADLINE is March 1st.  Pick up a "late order form" in the Main Office and send it in right away.

A dark comedy is coming to the Cape Theatre Program, whose title says it all.  RECKLESS is the spring show and now is your chance to get in on the fun.  Auditions will be held Wednesday, March 3rd, after school, in the theatre, at 3p.m.  For the audition, you will need to have a 30-second monologue prepared.

Cape Henlopen's "The Sky's The Limit" Talent Show is March 26th, 2010.  (100% of proceeds will be donated to Haiti relief).  Make sure to sign up.

SchoolCenter Picture Attention Cape Henlopen High School students...The LEO Club of CHHS will be meeting the first and third Tuesday's every month.  Our next scheduled meeting is Tuesday, March 2nd at 7:30a.m. in the auditorium.  Please look for the Leo club flyers or see Mr. Connors in the Boys PE office or Mr. Stocks in Room D203.  All are welcome!  New members needed!  Please remember the LEO club motto...WE SERVE!

Atlanta College Tour.  8 Colleges in 4 days.  Anyone interested in going there are still a few seats available on the bus.  Pickup a packet of information from Ms. Savage.  First come, first serve.  Seats are going fast.

PARTY - PARTY - PARTY Come party with AVID 12.  Avid 12 will be hosting a dance on Friday, February 26th from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. in the cafeteria.  Everyone is invited.  Tickets will be sold in advance from Wednesday, February 25th through Friday, February 26th in the cafeteria during all lunches for $3.00.  then the night of the party, February 26th, tickets will be sold for $4.00 at the door.  So buy your tickets now and party with AVID 12.

Returning Varsity Field Hockey players please stop by Ms. Ritthaler's room, D112 by the end of this week to pick up summer league forms.

The Weight Room is open every Monday, Wednesday & Thursday after school from 3:00 to 5:00.  All are welcome.

ATTENTION STUDENTS:  An informational meeting for Girls and Boys Tennis will be held on Wednesday, February 24th at 2:30 pm in the cafeteria.  A sign-up sheet for Girls tennis has been posted in hallway to Girl's side of the gym.  SIGN UP TODAY.

All girls and boys interested in Spring Track & Field are asked to plese sign up on the list in the cafeteria by the showcase.  Practive will begin on Monday, March 1st.  You need to make sure you have a physcial on file with the Athletic office.

A meeting for anyone interested in softball will be held on Thursday @ 2:40 in the cafeteria.  An announcement will be made to call you down from class.
